Thru It All ministries

Took 2 zero days here waiting out the cold rain with no reason to leave such a generous place. $25 a night and unlimited food, and last night the community dinner and service, all just wonderful.

Filled up on big servings of mac 'n cheese, salads, and pie. Then the pentecostal service with about 40 people attending, very friendly, welcoming, and sincere. Praise singing karaoke, some dancing and participation from the congregation, followed by a sermon from a woman officiating for the first time, about the 2 theives crucified beside Jesus. Never too late to be redeemed and go to heaven. The main minister was absent due to recovering from surgery, but his wife, who is also a minister sang through most of the rest of the service, during which church members approached the altar to be anointed with oil applied to forehead and then held closely by the woman who gave the sermon while she spoke in tongues directly to them. Many of the anointed fell back into the arms of someone who laid them down for a few minutes, covering them with a cloth. Could not really follow what was happening but it seemed to genuinely inspire everyone there. Very loving, joyous, deeply felt, powerful.

In my travels the last few years I've attended a random series of spiritual services, with the Northern Cheyenne at Little Big Horn, the 12 tribes cult in Maine, a Methodist Church in Virginia, a real variety of religious experiences. All meaningful and moving in their separate ways.
